I had spinal fusion surgery in February of this year. I've just been given the "OK" to paddleboard, kayak, swim and ride a bike but unfortunately, I can't windsurf until February or March of 2027.
We'll still be heading to the lake this summer as my wife will still be windsurfing. I want to contunue to encourage her love of the sport. I'll bike ride in the hills and do some hiking. Of course, we'll still have plent of BBQs and adult beverages with our friends. I'll make the best of it!
I sail in Southern California at Long Beach and Cabrillo Beach, better known as Hurricane Gulch. My wife and I also make regular trips to a lake in the Central Coast where it blows 20- 24 miles an hour almost every day during the summer. As a friend of mine says, wind powered sports enthusiasts are a global tribe. I have close friends at both locations who will help you in any way they can to enjoy yourself and make every day a great day! |
